Job Summary Dangote Cement Plc is seeking a Deputy General Manager, Mechanical for its Power Plant operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical maintenance of the power plant and ensuring optimal performance and reliability of equipment. Key Duties and Responsibilities Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules for all plant equipment, including gas turbines, compressors, gas generators, gas compressors, DM plant, Chiller, cooling tower and auxiliary systems. Plan and coordinate major overhauls, shutdowns, and inspections. Lead and manage a team of maintenance engineers, technicians, and support staff. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Ensure maximum plant availability and reliability by minimizing downtime and responding promptly to equipment failures. Implement maintenance best practices and modern techniques to optimize plant performance. Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Monitor and control maintenance expenses while maintaining high-quality standards. Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental regulations. Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain safety and compliance standards. Implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and hazards. Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and OEMs for procurement of spares, services, and maintenance support. Evaluate contractor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and performance data. Prepare periodic maintenance reports and present them to senior management. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 24 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within power plant operations. Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of power plant systems, including gas turbines, gas generators and electrical systems. Proficient in SAP System Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficient in predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance approaches. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in mechanical maintenance. Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant maintenance management software.
