Contract staff will provide essential support to the Corporate Communications Team, focusing on content development, execution, and media relations. Term and Reporting Structure Duration: December 2025 to April 30, 2026. Reporting: Report directly to the Head of Corporate Communications . Collaboration: The contract staff will work closely with other members of the Corporate Communications Team and extended marketing team, to support the execution of various projects led by those team members. Office presence: Contract staff is expected to be present in office from Monday to Friday, as per the usual work hours Scope of work The primary objective of this contract staff is to provide high-quality, reliable, and timely execution support to the Corporate Communications Team, ensuring the seamless delivery of all planned communications initiatives. The contract staff is expected to: Be proficient in receiving briefs Be resourceful in identifying additional information needed outside of the brief, escalating questions or roadblocks promptly and timely Independently executing the required tasks to final delivery. Familiarise with Teleport’s Tools & Systems: The contract staffmust be proficient or quickly adaptable to the company's standard tools for content management, media monitoring, and internal collaboration (e.g., Google Suite, Notion and Telum database) Deliverables and Key Responsibilities The Contractor's responsibilities will primarily fall into two categories: Content Development & Execution and Media Management & Support . Deliverables include, but are not limited to: External Communications * Write and/or edit press releases, corporate statements, and Q&A documents. * Develop engaging presentation materials and talking points where needed Executive Communications * Assist in drafting presentation scripts, talking points, and speeches for senior leadership. * Ensure consistency in messaging across all executive communications materials. General Content development * Support the production of annual report or sustainability report content by drafting sections and managing the review process. * Edit and proofread all outgoing corporate communications materials for grammar, clarity, and brand consistency. Media Management + support * Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor media coverage (print, online, social) for company mentions, industry trends, and competitive news. Compile daily/weekly media monitoring reports. * Media Relations Support: Support the Head of Communications in executing media outreach, including scheduling interviews, distributing press releases via appropriate channels, and responding to basic media inquiries under supervision. * Crisis Communications Support: Be available to support the communication team's execution of crisis communication plans, including organizing resources and tracking media response. At the end of the contract duration, contract staff to: * Submit a comprehensive handover document detailing all ongoing tasks, contacts, and outstanding deliverables. * Ensure all project files, content drafts, and media lists are organized and saved in the designated company repository. These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have' for the role: ● The ability to communicate in a simple yet substantial and meaningful way: Speak and articulate clearly and write well across various formats and applications ● A simple and data-driven storyteller: Understand Teleport's story with great depth, conduct research, analyse various content and reports, have the ability to understand and articulate market, industry and financial data to help you produce quality written and presentation work products in the form of talking points, articles, opinion editorials, press release and presentation slides, among others ● Ability to meet deadlines and adapt quickly to changes, able to multitask and is unphased under pressure ● Self-starter, independent and requires minimal supervision, yet highly communicative and a team player ● Resourcefulness in finding solutions, able to think critically and analytically ● Highly proficient in English. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin is an added advantage ● Experienced in government and industry relations ● Experienced in executing communications work for a B2B company ● Degree in Business, Law, Economics, Marketing, Communication or equivalent preferred These are skills that are ‘nice-to-have' and will make you stand out in the job application: ● Knowledge and experience in cargo, e-commerce delivery business and technology ● Background in a corporate strategy team with the ability to connect that with marketing and strategic communications
