Domes Miramare Corfu We are currently hiring a Sommelier for Domes Miramare Corfu, The Luxury Collection , an ultimate luxury 5* resort, located in Corfu, to join our  MAKRIS Restaurant team , for the 2026 season. Sommelier The Role: The Sommelier at Domes Resorts should be a trained and knowledgeable wine professional specializing in all aspects of wine service, wine and food pairing, and wine selection. With previous experience in fine dining restaurants, hotels, or resorts, the sommelier curates an exceptional beverage experience for Makris’ guests. Some of the responsibilities: Customer Interaction and Education: Recommend food and wine pairings Advise guests on wines based on their personal tastes and food choices Inform guests about different varieties of wines and prices Answers guest questions or concerns regarding the origin, vintage, and style of various wines Operational Services: Update the wine list in coordination with chefs and the Food and Beverage Manager Ensure wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware Store open bottles properly to maintain strong taste Manage the wine cellar and ensure its fully stocked Updates and maintains wine list and MICROS system Issues, opens, and serves wine/champagne bottles Suggests and implements wine promotions and incentive programs Monitors and replenishes inventory of wine cellar, equipment, and glassware Train wait staff on available wines Health, Safety, and Legal Compliance: Ensure that all wine services comply with local laws and regulations regarding the sale and service of alcohol Ensure that wines are stored properly in accordance with health and safety regulations, including keeping wine at the correct temperature and avoiding any exposure to elements that may affect quality Useful to have: Degree, MBA or master’s degree in a related field will be considered an asset Certification as a sommelier is beneficial (WSET or equivalent) Minimum 3 years resort experience as a Sommelier at a high end a la carte restaurant Knowledge of local vineyards and wineries Excellent knowledge of the English language, a second or third language will be considered a plus What you will bring: Excellent communication skills with a very strong customer-focused approach Hands-on approach, positive attitude and flexibility Cost-conscious and able to maximize revenue
