Find your future with us.   This position will focus on supporting the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). The Boeing Missile Defense Programs support the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) mission to develop and deploy a layered Missile Defense System to defend the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends from missile attacks in all phases of flight. Access to the facility requires a background investigation by U.S. government authorities. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Experienced and Senior Software Engineers. Position Responsibilities: Work with other industry partners as a key contributor to the design, development, and testing of Java-based applications in support of the C2BMC applications.  Support full software development lifecycle including generating design artifacts, implementing software changes, supporting design and code reviews, software testing, and resolution of issues found during testing  Actively participate in agile planning and execution using established processes  Software Requirements and architecture development in support of MDS systems  Develop, select, tailor and deploy integration and test processes, tools and metrics  Execute and document integration and test activities and events  Mentor junior engineers  Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance 2+ years of experience with backend development (Java, Spring, Oracle SQL, SQL Server) 1+ years of experience in Unified Modeling Language (UML) or other software architecture and design modeling techniques 1+ years of experience with Agile software development lifecycle Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Strong understanding of software development principles including OOP, design patterns, and testing/debugging techniques  Use of Eclipse, Maven, Gradle, and/or microservices in software development  Experience software performance optimization  Experience using automated unit testing frameworks  Security+ or equivalent certification within 60 days of starting  Missile defense domain experience, but not required  Knowledge of server-side development and message passing  Command and control system application development  Effective oral and written communication skills  Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root causes, recommend and develop a solution  CodeVue Coding Challenge:     To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process.
