Experienced Software Developer Engineer (P-8 Mission Systems) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Experienced Software Developer Engineer to support our P-8 Mission Systems Software team located in Kent, Washington. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space and Security Services (BDS) Software Engineering organization. In this position, you will be responsible for designing and developing Mission Systems software, testing, and supporting system functionality including operational support. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space and Security Services (BDS) Software Engineering organization. You’ll be an integral part of supporting the Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) P-8 Poseidon program, which is the premier Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) platform for the US Navy and several international partners. Upcoming contract awards have enabled team expansion and growth. This franchise program is anticipated to continue to be a stable program for the foreseeable future. We are seeking a leader that is passionate about aerospace and excited to work in a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment that supports the design, development, and implementation of software for existing and emerging government and international programs. This exciting position requires demonstrated experience as a Software Developer Engineer, knowledge of the full software development life cycle (requirements, design, code, test), and the clear exhibition of superior judgment and decision making to engineer new solutions and support existing capabilities for multiple programs and customers.  Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting skills are required. Position Responsibilities: Designs, develops, tests, and maintains non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards. Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products.  ​Develops, maintains, enhances and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrations. ​ Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products. ​ Debugs and resolves issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products. ​ Handles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues and user feedback analysis. ​ Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development. ​ Develops, establishes, monitors and improves software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks. Executes and documents software research and development projects. Advises on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations. Performs software project management activities and software supplier management functions. ​​ Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards.
