Job Description Summary The Director, Strategic Projects Lead is a senior transformation leader within Development, responsible for independently driving large, complex, cross functional strategic non-drug projects that directly shape organizational performance and contribute to Novartis’ mission to reimagine medicine. The role combines strong project leadership, strategic problem solving, and the ability to influence at all levels to deliver measurable business impact. This position is ideal for a highly proactive, analytical, and collaborative leader who thrives in ambiguity, challenges the status quo, and excels in connecting strategy to execution to enhance operational excellence across global Development. Communicate complex topics clearly and effectively through high quality‑quality verbal and written communication tailored to diverse audiences. Main requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred. Fluent English 8–10 years’ experience in pharma, life sciences, drug development, or CRO environments, with strong understanding of R&D and matrix organizations Proven program/project management expertise Strong analytical, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills, with ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity‑solving, and strategic thinking. Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing abilities, including experience presenting to senior leadership‑influencing abilities. High level of self-motivation, ownership, collaboration, and willingness to travel as needed‑motivation, ownership, collaboration.
