MediCard  is currently looking for assertive, dynamic and energetic individuals to fill up the following vacancy: The Database Administrator will manage, maintain, and optimize our database systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with database management, performance tuning, and data security. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Database Management: • Install, configure, and maintain database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL). • Ensure high availability and reliability of database environments. • Perform regular database backups and recovery procedures. Performance Tuning: • Monitor database performance and optimize queries and indexes. • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. • Implement best practices for database performance tuning. Data Security: • Implement and maintain security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality. • Conduct regular security assessments and audits. • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and policies. Troubleshooting and Support: • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues. • Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical problems. • Document processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Database Design and Development: • Design and implement database schemas and structures. • Develop and maintain database scripts and stored procedures. • Collaborate with development teams to support application requirements. Reporting and Analytics: • Develop and maintain metrics and reports to track database performance and usage. • Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement. • Present findings and recommendations to senior management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • 3+ years of experience in database administration. • Proficiency with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL). • Strong knowledge of SQL and database performance tuning. • Experience with data security best practices and tools. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. • Strong communication and teamwork abilities. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional). • Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database). • Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes. • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) At MediCard, we believe that diversity and inclusion are essential to fostering innovation, collaboration, and growth.
