About the Role To elevate AIA Singapore as the preferred life insurer with sound and competitive medical underwriting and proactive claims management Job Description Works with Head of New Business, Director of HNW underwriting and reinsurers (if applicable) to achieve competitive underwriting outcome Works with Head of Claims to provide expert opinion on complex claims assessment and medical claims adjudication Assess and evaluate the medical and underwriting risk for insurability. This include assessing the risk factors, providing cardiac opinions on ECG/treadmills, complex medical conditions and determine appropriate requirements and decisions Providing medical related and underwriting training to partners and internal stakeholders, and participate in case discussion Perform portfolio analysis to support better product design and refined underwriting approach & guidelines. Develop and implement AIA best practice guidelines to enhance consistency, quality, and strategic alignment across AIA’s underwriting teams. Contribute medical expertise to the design of new insurance products, advice medical trends and implications for product features Represent AIA Singapore in LIA underwriting related committees Job Requirements Minimum 10 years of underwriting experience or related experience in an insurance or reinsurance company. Possess Medical degree from recognised institution Additional advantage to possess underwriting authority for High Net Worth products Strong analytical and communication skill. Good understanding of life insurance business and its financial aspects and commonly seen medical conditions locally and its treatment protocols.
