Abbott is a global healthcare leader that helps people live more fully at all stages of life. Our portfolio of life-changing technologies spans the spectrum of healthcare, with leading businesses and products in diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals and branded generic medicines. Our 115,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries.       JOB DESCRIPTION: The Endovascular Franchise is a cornerstone of Vascular's business, contributing approximately $700 million in revenue and demonstrating a robust trajectory for future growth. Anchored by a best-in-class portfolio, this franchise represents a global expansion opportunity, positioning Vascular to redefine the market landscape through cutting-edge innovation and strategic advancements. This role spans Upstream and Downstream Marketing, Marketing Communications, and Digital Enablers—critical pillars in shaping the franchise's evolution. Success in this space demands a visionary approach, where strategy meets execution to unlock new possibilities for engagement, adoption, and sustained market leadership. As a rapidly evolving field, Endovascular interventions have seen transformative breakthroughs, with Abbott leading the charge through game-changing innovations like Esprit BTK and a complementary portfolio designed to set new standards in patient care. At its core, our mission is to revolutionize treatment for Peripheral Vascular Disease, tackling critical challenges such as reducing amputation rates and enhancing patient outcomes through next-generation technology and clinical excellence. The Vascular business is at a pivotal moment—a rare inflection point where innovation, market dynamics, and patient needs converge to create unparalleled opportunities. By leveraging new product launches and expanding Abbott's global Endovascular footprint, we are poised to accelerate growth, strengthen our impact, and shape the future of vascular intervention. We seek a transformational leader who thrives on calculated risk-taking, challenges industry conventions and pushes boundaries to propel the business to unprecedented heights. If you are driven by the pursuit of innovation and energized by disruptive change, this opportunity is yours to redefine. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Franchise Ownership Drive franchise-level strategic, tactical, and operational decisions that maximize global growth, competitiveness, and patient impact across the Endovascular portfolio. Build and execute a cohesive long‑term vision for Endovascular therapies that integrates advancements in vessel preparation, scaffolds, drug‑delivery technologies, thrombectomy systems, and image‑guided intervention. Serve as the Endovascular franchise champion within Abbott Vascular—shaping executive decision-making, guiding investment priorities, and ensuring resources align with highest‑value clinical and commercial opportunities. Market & Competitive Insight Maintain deep expertise across the entire category – e.g., peripheral vascular disease, critical limb ischemia, atherectomy, thrombectomy, drug‑coated and bioresorbable technologies. Monitor emerging competitors, evidence shifts, procedural trends, and the evolving regulatory landscape—including device innovation, adjunctive technologies, and care‑pathway changes. Anticipate category inflection points by identifying early signals in clinical practice, reimbursement pressures, and unmet clinical needs—translating insights into clear franchise direction. Identify opportunities for market expansion, new therapy adoption, and procedural standard‑of‑care evolution across global markets. Upstream Marketing & Portfolio Development Lead end‑to‑end portfolio management for the Endovascular franchise—from customer insights → concept development → design input → clinical validation → product/solution launch. Translate physician workflow needs, procedural pain points, and system‑level challenges into actionable requirements for R&D, Clinical, and Regulatory. Drive trade‑off decisions that balance clinical value, competitive differentiation, technical feasibility, and financial impact across Endovascular platforms. Shape franchise and platform strategy, including next‑generation device development, drug‑device innovation, system integration, and expansion into adjacent procedural categories. Downstream Marketing & Commercial Leadership Define and lead global go‑to‑market strategy for new Endovascular product launches—covering segmentation, positioning, pricing, reimbursement, adoption pathways, and global sales enablement. Own global brand strategy, messaging, and clinical value narratives for the Endovascular portfolio. Partner with regional commercial leaders to ensure launch excellence, competitive execution, and sustained growth post‑launch. Conduct ongoing informal market sensing by maintaining a strong pulse on trends and sentiment through regular engagement with field teams, regional partners and physicians. Drive programs that accelerate adoption of Endovascular therapies through education, evidence dissemination, procedural workflow optimization, and clinical practice change. Cross‑Functional Partnership & Organizational Alignment Serve as the primary business partner to R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Medical Affairs, and HEOR, ensuring alignment between portfolio strategy, clinical evidence generation, and regulatory pathways. Partner with engineering teams developing delivery systems, drug‑coated technologies, thrombectomy devices, vessel‑prep tools, and material science innovations to ensure solutions meet validated customer needs. Collaborate closely with Clinical and HEOR to create compelling clinical data, economic value stories, and global reimbursement strategies that strengthen competitive positioning. Align with supply chain, operations, and finance leaders to optimize lifecycle profitability, manufacturing readiness, and global delivery performance. Portfolio Planning & Long‑Range Strategy Lead the Endovascular portfolio planning process, including roadmap prioritization, capital allocation, and multi‑year strategic planning based on clinical trends, economic shifts, and competitive dynamics. Develop and champion high‑impact business cases for new device concepts, therapy innovations, platform evolution, and expansion into adjacent markets. Drive forecasting, scenario planning, and global market modeling to guide strategic and investment decisions. Team Leadership & Talent Development Build and develop a high‑performing team with expertise spanning upstream marketing, therapy development, market strategy, and clinical/technical integration. Foster a culture of innovation, market curiosity, and continuous improvement that embraces rapid learning cycles and evidence‑driven decision‑making. Provide mentorship, coaching, and succession planning to ensure long‑term franchise leadership strength. Minimum & Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. MBA or advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience in life sciences, medical devices, or pharmaceutical industries. Ability to influence senior-level stakeholders and confidently recommend a point-of-view based on insights and data. Proven ability to develop and execute complex strategic business plans. Effective financial and budget management. Data analysis and financial skills are critical. Record of successful talent development through direct or indirect reporting relationships.
