Job Description Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our Healthcare Interoperability team. This team is responsible for building robust, scalable, and secure solutions that enable seamless integration with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) using industry standards such as IHE, HL7, and FHIR. You will play a key role in designing and delivering software components that power critical healthcare workflows, ensuring data exchange across systems is accurate, efficient, and compliant. Job Description Key Responsibilities: - **Design, develop, and deploy** high-quality software components and features that support interoperability with EMRs.      - Tackle complex technical challenges and deliver solutions that earn positive feedback from peers and stakeholders.      - Apply sound **software design principles** and architectural patterns to build maintainable and scalable systems.      - Work both **independently and collaboratively** within a cross-functional team to deliver high-impact software.      - Write **secure, testable, and efficient code**, adhering to best practices and ensuring low defect rates.      - Conduct and participate in **code reviews** that are constructive, timely, and focused on continuous improvement.      - Drive **operational excellence** by identifying areas for improvement and leading initiatives to enhance system reliability and maintainability.      - Contribute to the evolution of **development and testing processes**, tools, and automation frameworks.      - Mentor and onboard new team members, sharing deep knowledge of the product, customer needs, and technical architecture.      - Collaborate effectively across teams, engaging in **constructive dialogue** to resolve technical disagreements and align on solutions.      Required Qualifications: - **5+ years** of professional software development experience.      - Proficiency in **Python**, **Java**, or **TCL**.      - Strong understanding of **healthcare interoperability standards**, especially **HL7** (required); familiarity with **FHIR** is a strong plus.      - Experience working with **IHE profiles** and EMR integration workflows.      - Experience working with **Cloverleaf** (from Infor)      - Demonstrated ability to **learn new technologies** and domains quickly on the job.      - Solid grasp of **software engineering fundamentals**, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.      - Experience with **unit testing**, **CI/CD pipelines**, and **version control systems** (e.g., Git).      - Excellent communication and collaboration skills.      **Preferred Qualifications:** - Experience in the **medical device** or **healthcare IT** industry.      - Familiarity with **HIPAA**, **data privacy**, and **security best practices** in healthcare.      - Exposure to **cloud platforms** (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).      - Contributions to open-source healthcare projects or standards bodies.      **Inclusion and Diversity** GE Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer where inclusion matters.
