To have the market presence and respect in the line of business underwritten in order to develop further that line of business within agreed business plan parameters. To adhere to the underwriting authority granted. To focus on delivering the agreed combined loss ratio target. Job Responsibilities Business planning: Involvement with business planning process as required by DMD Marketing / broker development: Responsible for building and maintaining excellent relationships with their targeted brokers and involvement in marketing initiatives as required Product development:  Involvement in product development as required by DMD Supervision: Will work independently and make underwriting decisions with minimal referral to DMD; manage, coach and support the underwriters reporting to them. Technical knowledge:  Superior knowledge of a line of business is required with reputation for expertise within their market Underwriting standards: Ensure that underwriting standards and procedures are complied with for their line and that all data input and systems are in line with agreed procedures for their team
