Job Summary: The Department of Political Science at West Texas A&M University invites applications for an on-campus, tenure-track Assistant Professor position, beginning in Fall 2026.  Candidates must have a Ph.D. or doctorate in either Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science with a concentration in Public Administration, or in a field closely related to public administration; ABDs will be considered.  The successful applicant will teach courses in the Master of Public Administration program and introductory courses in American and/or state and local government. Teaching experience in both face-to-face and online formats is preferred. Review of applications will begin immediately. Work Performed:  The teaching load is 3/3 for the fall and spring semesters The successful candidate will teach in the Master of Public Administration program, which is 100 percent online.  The successful candidate will teach introductory courses in American and/or state and local government. The successful candidate will maintain an active research agenda and engage in scholarship that contributes to their progress toward tenure. The successful candidate will work with colleagues and administration to advance the mission of the Terry B. Rogers College of Education and Social Sciences. Necessary Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. or doctorate in either Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science with a concentration in Public Administration, or in a field closely related to public administration; ABDs will be considered.  Ability to teach core courses in the MPA program as well as other courses in the program. Ability to teach American National Government and/or American State and Local Government. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to engage in scholarship that will contribute toward tenure Desire to excel in teaching both online and face-to-face.
