The ideal candidate for this role will be comfortable working with applications that involve complex data requirements and will provide solutions using proven, industry-standard methodologies and have expertise in SOLR. You will be directly involved in writing software or solutions based on detailed requirements and system specifications. Additionally, you will oversee development activities to ensure delivery of world-class capabilities aligned with GM’s corporate and business objectives for a greenfield application. This role offers the opportunity to advise, coach, and mentor software engineers, while making a significant impact on this new application and helping to develop junior software engineers. What You'll Do Developing enterprise-grade applications using Kubernetes/Docker, Quarkus, SOLR, Java, Angular, and PostgreSQL, among other tools. Proactively engage in the identification / remediation of software issues such as code quality, pattern mismatch, and security issues related to the code or solution/configuration. Leads comprehensive design analysis of design solution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead GM’s transition to cloud technologies. Providing guidance and mentoring of fellow software engineers and other team members. Ability to navigating complex corporate environments and processes to remove project roadblocks. Understands code quality analysis results and remediation mechanisms. Strong Knowledge of maintaining and debugging live software systems. Experience in implementing various branching strategies and sharing that expertise with your team. Advanced CI/CD knowledge including automated builds and deployments and developing pipelines with GitHub Actions. Document software solutions and ensure that technical documentation meets GM standards. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)​​ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience 5+ years of experience delivering full-stack application development using Java/JEE and Angular 3+ years of experience working with containerized and cloud-native technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, Quarkus, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining complex SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures 3+ years of experience working in an Agile/SCRUM development environment What Will Give You a Competietive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)​​ Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineer or related field Proven experience in migrations to Azure cloud including complex data requirements Experience designing global, scalable enterprise level systems #LI-KL2
