Mercy Hospital’s 10M Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Stepdown Unit provides care to higher acuity pulmonology and cardiac patients. These patients may require telemonitoring or hardwire monitors and may have trachs, vents, and IV drips (non-titrate). As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment. For a full list of benefits, click here .  Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.  A caregiver in this position works night shifts from 7:00 p.m. -- 7:30 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct nursing care.  Implement and monitor patient care plans.   Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.   Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.   Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.  Educate patients and their families Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing   Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)   One year of current acute care RN experience.
