Here, you will work alongside passionate and dedicated caregivers, receive endless support and appreciation and build a rewarding career.  As a Research AHT, you will monitor and support the health and well-being of animals at Cleveland Clinic utilized in foundational pre-clinical trials and studies. In this role, you will ensure they have adequate supplies, food and clean enclosures to prevent illnesses and discomfort. Ultimately, your efforts are crucial in facilitating the Cleveland Clinic mission to enhance the global healthcare field.  A caregiver in this position works days from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.with weekend and holiday requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Monitor and care for the health and well-being of animals housed in the Biological Resources Unit (BRU). Perform daily health observations and monitor the condition of research animals. Provide custodial care, fresh feed and fresh water for animals according to the standard operating procedures. Write up health reports for the vet team. Receive animal shipments and complete required documentation. Maintain and adequately supply the areas used for technical procedures. Transport supplies, equipment and animals to and from various locations. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    High School Diploma or GED  Completion of on-the-job training to properly handle all species of animals housed within the BRU Flexibility 24/7, 365-days a year Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   Experience in the custodial care of animals Prior animal handling experience and/or schooling in animal science Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. Capable of tolerating a significant amount of standing, bending and walking.
