To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What You will Be Doing The Enterprise Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence team is the center of AI excellence within CIBC and is leading the way in applying the best practices in artificial intelligence , machine learning and natural language processing, leveraging the latest technology and platforms. We collaborate with the leading academic institutes in the space of AI and machine learning to promote the exchange of ideas and enrich our talent. Our work covers every aspect of the research life cycle, from partnering with Academia to building production systems. We work with product, technology, and business partners to apply the state of the art in AI to our business. With your defined practical experience in the domain of Artificial Intelligence, as an AI Scientist, Advanced Analytics and AI you will apply knowledge and experience of advanced modelling to solve challenging business problems and building innovative solutions. You’ll interact with groups across the organization from products, segments, marketing to channels, risk and capital markets. You’ll work with real world structured and unstructured datasets to produce end-to-end solutions, taking models from experiment to deployment.   At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role you’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.   How You’ll Succeed Artificial Intelligence Expertise -  Provide AI solutions to solve business problem leveraging statistics, machine learning, natural language processing, GenAI, and optimization techniques. Ability to conduct self-directed research, typically using non-traditional resources to solve business problems. Analytical Partner -   You will work with business units to understand their needs, opportunities and pain points. Translate data to insights and inform decision making. Focus on relationship building and become the trusted analytical partner. Intellectual Curiosity and Continuous Improvement -  Maintain a strong desire to enhance our AI/ML techniques and approaches. Collaborate with data experts to understand data and engineer relevant features. Work effectively with fellow data scientists and engineers to develop data products. Mentor junior team members and offer technical thought leadership.   Who You Are You have a degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. You can demonstrate 1-3 years of experience in machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), natural language understanding (NLU), and/or other AI techniques with TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc. You have extensive hands-on experience with Python . Proficient in writing SQL/ Spark scripts, developing robust and efficient modular Python code in a non-notebook environment, creating APIs, and working with Git version control tools. You have expertise in Python programming, with proficiency in libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn. You have a strong understanding of machine learning algorithms , including supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning, as well as model selection, training, and evaluation. Experience with prompt engineering and integrating large language models (LLMs) into data applications, using frameworks like   LangChain ,   LangGraph , Semantic Kernel, or   AutoGen . Solid grasp of statistical concepts, including probability distributions, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis, to interpret data patterns and evaluate model performance .    Proficiency   with Git for version control, team collaboration, and ensuring code reproducibility. Ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code, applying object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns. Hands-on experience with generative models   such as GANs, VAEs, and transformers, and their practical applications. Experience with Azure and Databricks for deploying and scaling AI models would be an asset. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for large-scale deployment and management of AI applications is also desirable. Knowledge of AI lifecycle management concepts and related tools would be considered an   additional   advantage. Demonstrated familiarity with AI agents and agentic workflows , including designing, developing, and deploying agent-based systems. Skilled in   leveraging   frameworks and tools that enable autonomous decision-making and multi-agent collaboration. Practical exposure to real-world applications of agentic AI is highly preferred, with a focus on building, orchestrating, and   optimizing   agent-driven processes within complex environments.   You're passionate about people Driven by collective success, recognizing that collaboration can transform a good idea into a great one.
