The student will focus on implementing and testing innovative numerical algorithms to support accelerations of large-scale power system simulations. The student will   join our Hitachi Energy Research team of Grid Management and Optimization in Mannheim, Germany.     How you'll make an impact Literature Review on GPU acceleration of numerical methods   Further develop existing tools for power flow analysis   Implement numerical algorithms in Cuda / C++   Perform benchmarking tests   Document and present findings    Your background Studying computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering or related field   Good programming skills C++ and / or Cuda / python for fast prototyping   Preferably experience with scientific computing, numerical algorithms, profiling tools   Ability to work in a team and have strong team spirit   Qualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.
