Job Summary The physician is responsible for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the health problems presented by the patients. Participate in on-call and weekend coverage, as required by the Department. Participate in value-based reimbursement programs and quality initiatives, as required by the Department. Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) / Quality Assurance (QA) and peer review activities as requested. Assist, as requested, in the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care. Participate in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities. Support patient participation in clinical trials and research projects, assess clinical safety and efficacy data, consistent with Research Institute policies. Provide oversight, teaching, and mentorship of fellows, residents, APPs (e.g., physician assistants and advance practice registered nurses), and students and others (as appropriate) providing services to patients, including meaningful participation with the affiliated medical schools as requested.
