Job DescriptionThe Plant Engineer will provide engineering support and project leadership for the plant. The expectation is that this role will spend approximately 60% of the time on project related activities and 40% of the time on plant support activities. At times either activity could exceed expectation. The Plant Engineer I role will include project implementation, production and equipment improvement initiatives and support the daily operations of the plant to ensure all safety and quality goals are achieved.Responsibilities:Project management, project planning, project coordinator, purchasing, and supervision of contractors for various projects to assure completion on a timely basis within budget.Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements.Lead and assist management with appropriate training to assure regulatory compliance.Report to the Director of Engineering with a dotted line to the Plant Manager.Maintain appropriate communication/relationships with all employees, vendors, visitors.Provide the necessary safety training to contractors and others as necessary.Follow, monitor, and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations, and policies.Attend daily production/quality meetings.Provide technical support for plant processes and improvements.Observe facility operations and assist with problem solving on a regular basis.Assist management with appropriate training to assure regulatory compliance.Make sketches, drawings, line layouts, plans etc., and written instructions as necessary to affect equipment maintenance and repair. Competencies: Effective Communication - Develops and delivers communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.Effective Teambuilding - Active participation in, or creation of, teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.Creative and Innovative Thinking - Develops fresh ideas that provide solutions; creates new and better ways for the organization to be successful.
