If you do not meet the previously mentioned civil service criteria, you will not be considered for an interview.The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Infrastructure is currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join the Engineering Services – Specifications team.Under the supervision of the Director, the successful candidate will evaluate the appropriate and most cost-effective foundation support system, and the bearing capacity of shallow and deep foundations. Other key responsibilities include performing geotechnical studies/projects in subsurface investigations; soil/foundation engineering; pile analysis and design; retaining walls; bridge structures; settlement analysis; lateral earth pressures; and slope stability.Additionally, the Geotechnical Engineer will perform forensic engineering; site investigations; write reports; and provide geotechnical engineering support during construction.Please note: All candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.). In compliance with Public Law 99-603, candidates are required to present original documents proving citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S. DDC is unable to support or sponsor any visa application or visa extension, including but not limited to OPT/STEM visas, H-1B visas, F-1 practical training, permanent residence sponsorship, or any proposed change of visa type.
