Job DescriptionTHE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED AN HOURLY RATE OF $19.50.The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community. ACS' Family Services Division (FSD) is a beacon of support to families by connecting them to community-based resources. The division works to provide resources that maintain the safety and well-being of families by promoting child and parent well-being, strengthening the ability of parents and guardians to keep their children safe and reducing the risk of repeat maltreatment, neglect, and placements/re-placements into foster care. FSD provides guidance and resources to our contracted providers that strengthen their ability to assess and address the service needs of families we serve. FSD is seeking a highly-motivated and detail-oriented Research & Innovation Undergraduate Intern to join our team. As Research & Innovation Undergraduate Intern, you will support our R&I team in day-to-day operations and contribute to long-term projects aimed at strengthening prevention services for children, families, and communities. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to research activities in a government setting, including data gathering and analysis, literature reviews, interviews, human-centered design approaches, policy analysis, and cross-divisional feedback sessions.Additionally, as a member of the 2026, ACS Summer Internship Program cohort, you will participate in an enrichment program designed to fully engage students into the ACS and NYC government experience.
