Job DescriptionJob PurposeThe Safety Lead is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring all Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) activities at the Lucknow project to ensure a safe working environment, compliance with statutory requirements, and prevention of accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.Key ResponsibilitiesHSE Management & ComplianceDevelop, implement, and maintain the Project HSE Plan in line with company policy, contract requirements, and statutory laws.Ensure compliance with applicable Factories Act, Building & Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act, IS codes, DGMS (if applicable), and local safety regulations.Ensure adherence to client and consultant HSE requirements at site.Risk Assessment & ControlConduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) for all construction activities.Ensure implementation of safe work practices for high-risk activities such as:Work at heightLifting operationsElectrical worksExcavation & trenchingConfined space operationsMonitor implementation of control measures and PPE usage.Site Safety SupervisionConduct daily site safety inspections and toolbox talks.Stop unsafe acts or conditions and ensure immediate corrective actions.Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, and supervisors to maintain safety standards.Training & AwarenessConduct induction training for all new employees, visitors, and subcontractors.Organize regular toolbox talks, safety campaigns, mock drills, and awareness programs.Promote a strong safety culture across the project.Incident Management & ReportingInvestigate accidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences.Prepare incident investigation reports with root cause analysis.Ensure implementation and tracking of corrective and preventive actions.Maintain accident statistics and submit daily/weekly/monthly HSE reports.Audits & InspectionsConduct internal HSE audits and support client, statutory, and third-party audits.Ensure timely closure of audit findings and compliance observations.Documentation & RecordsMaintain all HSE documentation including:Safety permitsPPE recordsTraining recordsInspection checklistsAccident/incident reportsEnsure proper display of safety signage and emergency information at site.
