The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate consultancy experience.Role within the project:To lead Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery.To provide support on major Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for an aspect of service delivery.To ensure that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards. ScopeProject Managers handle commissions of varying sizes, depending upon the complexity of the project, etc. Typically, projects fall within the Rs5cr to Rs10cr range. When in a supporting role, the project size may be far greater.Responsibilities:Helping to establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parametersIdentifying and ensuring that the appropriate line manager is aware of quality, safety, health and environment issuesEstablishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout projectProject planning, including producing the detailed project planAdvising upon the procurement of resourcesLeading and facilitating the overall cross-functional project teamMonitoring and applying performance management techniquesManaging the change control processMonitoring and advising upon project financesManaging the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communicationsPreparing formal project progress and other reportsTaking a leading role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stagesMarketing and business development, to include:Identifying opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and reporting such opportunities to the appropriate line managerAssisting in the production of bid documentationEnsuring that project case study, photograph and project CV files are kept up to dateIdentifying ways in which project management products and services can be improved and referring ideas to the appropriate line managerUnderstanding the Turner & Townsend 2+2=5 philosophy and identifying cross-divisional opportunitiesInternal management accountabilities, to include:Knowledge management – Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each project is input into the Turner & Townsend internal databaseFinancial management – Ensuring prompt client invoicing and utilising TIC Sheets in order to monitor a project’s financial statusProcess improvement – Identifying ways in which internal systems and processes can be improved and referring ideas to the appropriate line managerReportingDepending upon context, a Project Manager is likely to report to a Senior Project Manager or Associate Director.
