The mission is to re-platform the largest GPU-scale inference and training infrastructure serving hundreds of thousands of GPUs onto a modern, high-velocity engineering foundation.As a Distinguished Engineer, you will help architect and deliver core distributed systems primitives including scalable Kubernetes scheduling, metadata storage, model serving control planes, observability, and global routing — all built to run at massive scale on cloud infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure, distributed systems, and AI platforms, an opportunity to shape one of the most leveraged software problems at the company and build systems that will eventually onboard teams across the organization.Responsibilities:You will drive the engineering systems vision spanning hermetic builds (Bazel), continuous deployment, cryptographic supply chain integrity, infrastructure-as-code, and identity/security, with a goal of enabling AI-native developer productivity.You will partner directly with senior engineering leaders across LinkedIn to define technical strategy, set the quality bar, and drive execution from early prototyping through full production migration of mission-critical AI workloadsYou will help define business strategy and technical strategy and drive alignment cross functionally.You will head cross team/cross functional discussions and drive alignment on technology strategy.You will actively improve the level of craftsmanship at LinkedIn by developing best practices and defining best strategies.You will define the bar for quality and efficiency of software systems while balancing business impact, operational impact and cost benefits of design and architectural choices.You will establish a culture that values diverse viewpoints while navigating complex decisions.
