Job Description Who will you be working with?You will be part of the Fleet Innovation and Transformation Team, a global Systems Engineering group focused on locomotive modernization, NPI kit development, digital upgrades, and controls electronics evolution.How will you make a difference?As a Systems Engineer, you will lead locomotive modernization and upgrade programs, NPI kits development, software upgrades, and Control Electronics Obsolescence initiatives with broad scope and high impact for the business. You will be responsible for projects with long‑term implications, driving complex cross-functional coordination, ensuring system-level requirement alignment, and supporting our customers by delivering robust technical solutions. You will act as the primary engineering interface across commercial, product management, validation, sourcing, and services teams, leading projects from concept through customer delivery.What do we want to know about you?Required QualificationsBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Controls & Software, Electronics & Computer ScienceProven experience with engineering project execution, preferably in the railway industrySystems approach and analytical mindsetAbility to drive projects to completion, meeting key milestones and deliverablesProject planning and organizational skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsDesired CharacteristicsMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls & Software, Electronics & Computer ScienceSix Sigma trainingElectrical/Controls/Software design backgroundFamiliarity with manufacturing processesAbility to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customersNorth America and International legacy locomotive expertiseWhat will your typical day look like?Provide technical leadership for all product design aspects of NPI, software, control electronics obsolescence, or locomotive modernization projectsDevelop and maintain project schedules; engage necessary engineering resourcesAnalyze and identify project risks and build mitigation plansPerform locomotive configuration file analysis, comparison, updates, approvals, and releaseDeliver strong and concise requirements and product definitions to engineering teamsAnalyze system-level designs with focus on design rigor and improvement opportunitiesUse engineering tools such as QSW, DOORS, EDOT, PLM, RelianceOrganize and perform system-level validation plansSupport interfacing organizations (commercial, proposals, manufacturing, sourcing, services, reliability, global engineering, systems engineering)Support services, fulfillment, and NPI activitiesSupport customer delivery and commissioning, on-site or remotelyCommunicate progress to all levels of the organizationMentor and develop less experienced personnelBenefícios:Na Wabtec, pessoas estão em primeiro lugar.
