Job DescriptionJoin SGS as a Laboratory Technician in Newcastle, where you'll play a key role in performing laboratory procedures with precision and efficiency. This position offers a rotational roster (day, afternoon and night), providing flexibility while ensuring quality testing in line with documented methods and work instructions. Our key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:Assist the Laboratory SupervisorDeputise for the Laboratory Technical OfficerHelp to maintain a technically first-class laboratoryCarry out any routine laboratory analysisCalculate and assess resultsCarry out equipment calibration and maintenance under supervisionHelp to dispatch samples to other laboratoriesHelp ensure samples are stored correctlyHelp to monitor stock levels and advise if re-ordering is requiredHelp to check goods received by the laboratoryAssist in training and development of traineesSuggest and help to implement improvements to laboratory methods and techniquesPerform other duties as required
