Job DescriptionWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geologist/Petrographer to join our Lawrenceville, GA laboratory. In this role, you will assist in the analysis of aggregate (rock), concrete, and other construction materials using petrographic techniques to assess material composition, quality, and potential causes of deterioration.Conduct petrographic examinations of concrete, aggregates, and other construction materials following ASTM and industry standards.Prepare samples for microscopic analysis.Utilize polarized light microscopy (PLM) and reflected light microscopy (RLM) to evaluate rock and concrete samples.Conduct particle counts of rock samples as well as hardened air void counts (ASTM C457) on polished concrete samples.Assist in conducting chemical and physical tests related to concrete and aggregate.Document findings and assist in preparing technical reports for clients.Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.Assist senior petrographers, geologists, and clients to support investigations and project needs.
