Key Responsibilities: · Design and facilitate arts and crafts sessions tailored to the abilities and interests of ABI program participants. · Modify projects and utilize adaptive tools or techniques as needed to accommodate varying levels of cognitive and physical functioning. · Encourage creativity, self-esteem, and group participation through structured and open-ended art activities. · Provide instruction, guidance, and hands-on assistance to individuals and small groups. · Maintain a safe and supportive environment, adhering to all program policies and safety protocols. · Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members (e.g., occupational therapists, program coordinators, support staff) to integrate art activities with therapeutic goals. · Track participant attendance, engagement, and progress; document outcomes as required. · Manage art supplies inventory, prepare materials in advance, and ensure proper storage and cleanliness of the art area. · Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing professional development related to ABI and adaptive arts programming. · High school diploma or equivalent · Experience working with adults with acquired brain injuries or other neurological conditions is strongly preferred, training available. · Demonstrated skills in a variety of arts and crafts techniques (e.g., painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, textiles). · Ability to adapt activities for individuals with cognitive, physical, and behavioral challenges. · Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. · Patience, creativity, and a person-centered approach to instruction. · Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain). · Background check clearance required, including Fingerprints Work Environment: This position operates in a community-based day program setting. The role may require standing, bending, and lifting supplies, as well as providing physical assistance to participants as needed.
