Title: DG BOSS: Marine Inboard Mechanic (FN) The incumbent must coordinate with his supervisor, all departmental matters requiring interface with outside agencies. Performs masking, covering and blanking of critical equipment and surfaces for protection from any damaging elements. Performs engine set up on dynamometer stand. Records reading, make adjustments and settings. Installs temporary test equipment such as thermocouples, tachometers, pressure gauges and dial indicators. Performs repairs of blowers, compressors, and fuel injectors. Maintains awareness to safety requirements, all work areas clean and in good housekeeping. Accomplishes proper maintenance of various tools and equipment. Performs other duties as required to support contract requirements. Basic Qualifications Familiar with any type of marine diesel and gasoline engines, including marine outboard engines. Knowledge in different types/classes and uses of tools and computerized diagnostic systems. Must speak, read, and understand English language, both orally and in writing. Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health. Preferred Qualifications JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING Any mechanical specialized certification preferred, but not necessary. EDUCATION: High School graduate coupled with the completion of an apprenticeship or trade school training in diesel and gasoline engine repairs. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of four (4) year experience as an Equipment Mechanic, two (2) years of which must have been in marine diesel engine repair work.
