Position Department Advancement - Alumni Engagement Job Summary/Basic Function Position Summary The Associate Director of Alumni Career Programs will lead the design, implementation, and growth of innovative, career-oriented programming for Dickinson alumni. This role will develop lifelong learning and professional development opportunities that reflect the strengths of a liberal arts education while meeting the evolving needs of alumni across career stages.   Working collaboratively across Advancement, Career Services, Academic Affairs, and external partners, the Associate Director will build scalable programs that deepen alumni engagement, expand professional networks, and strengthen the college’s value proposition beyond graduation.   This is a strategic and entrepreneurial role for a relationship-builder who can translate institutional mission into high-impact alumni experiences. Essential Functions Design and launch career-focused programs for alumni, including professional network programs, mentorship programs, hard and transferable skill intensives, and career transitions support. Create scalable, accessible programs on campus, off campus and virtually that are suitable for alumni across diverse life stages, career stages and industries. Cultivate relationships with alumni leaders, utilize the Alumni Council, and develop new volunteers to lead engaging and productive professional networks. Lead volunteer development initiatives and steward volunteers to ensure self-sustaining networks. Develop a Career Coaching program for alumni of Dickinson College, utilizing alumni and external career coaches. Use data, surveys, and direct engagement to assess alumni needs and inform programming. Establish clear goals, metrics, and evaluation processes to measure participation, satisfaction, and long-term impact. Partner with campus partners, including the Office of Career Development, Academic Affairs, and campus centers to extend professional development resources to alumni. Partner with College Advancement colleagues to integrate programming into engagement and fundraising strategies. Develop marketing language and messaging in partnership with Marketing & Communications. Seek and implement strategies to build knowledge about new programs and engage alumni from across life and career stages through career initiatives. Remain informed about career and job market trends, advances in technology, and emerging fields. Develop programs to assist the alumni community in an ever-changing global job market.
