Position Department Asbell Center Job Summary/Basic Function The Asbell Center Jewish Life Fellow will provide programming support and leadership development to student leaders within Jewish Life, as well as support for the Day to Day operations of the Asbell Center. This one-year post-baccalaureate position will work directly with student leaders to achieve their engagement goals; support marketing initiatives on-and off-campus; recruit students for off-campus learning opportunities whether with Jewish Life or in partnership with the Center for Spirituality and Social Justice; and work with the Director to develop an independent project around institutional culture change. This role will serve as an introduction to many skills vital to work in the non-profit sector, including: working with volunteers and boards, using data to create engagement and programming strategy, and developing organizational partnerships. The Fellow will have the opportunity to attend the Hillel International General Assembly Conference • Essential Function 1: 20% Meet regularly with Jewish student leaders to help them set goals, create program plans, and develop effective engagement strategies. Coordinate with student leaders to build community between Jewish students on campus. • Essential Function 2: 20% Be a visible presence on campus, attending events, including but not limited to: sit-down meetings with prospective students and parents, Shabbat services and dinners, Holiday celebrations, and educational and social programming. • Essential Function 3: 10% Oversee media for the office including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, EngageD and Newsletter. This includes creating and posting content when students are not present. • Essential Function 4: 10% Recruit students for education and professional development travel opportunities domestically and abroad. • Essential Function 5: 15% Under the leadership of the Asbell Center Director, the Fellow will complete an intensive project focused on institutional change . This applied project will focus on research into non-profit management best-practices and lead to an initative designed to implement those best practices. • Essential Function 6: 10% Assist Asbell Center Director with the development of reports and communications materials to donors, alumni, and other community members. Communicate about Asbell Center activities with community stakeholders with the assistance of the Director. • Essential Function 7: 15% Support Jewish Learning initiatives including, but not limited to: the Asbell Center’s Jewish Learning Fellowship and Shabbat Hosting Lab. • Essential Function 8: 0% Support Asbell Center with other EEO/Diversity Statement:     The College is committed to building a representative and diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
