This individual is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and long-term success of CFS's comprehensive Radiation Protection program. They will champion a strong safety culture throughout the organization, and work with leaders across EHSS and all departments to develop and implement a holistic and proactive approach to safety.</span></p>\n<p></p><p><br></p><b>What you'll do:</b><ul> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Radiation Protection Leadership:</strong></span> Serve as the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) for the CFS Broad Scope License and provide leadership in all areas radiation is used</li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Develop Radiation Protection Program:</strong></span> Responsible for the development of CFS Radiation Protection Program areas in accordance with state and federal radiation regulations, with oversight from the Radiation Safety Committee.</li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Lead and manage Radiation Protection Team:</strong></span> Responsible for the recruitment, selection, management, development and assessment of Radiation Protection staff.</li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Manage and Assess the Radiation Protection Program:</strong></span> Responsible for the technical adequacy of all program operations. Ensures the program is performed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Licensing Commitments, and Regulatory Requirements. Performs or oversees annual program assessments.</li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Hazard Risk Investigation and Response:</strong></span> Conduct incident and exposure investigations, and develop corrective actions plans. Ensure that appropriate follow-up is completed, recorded, and reported to the Radiation Safety Committee and/or regulatory authorities.</li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Monitor and Report on Radiation Protection Program Operations:</strong></span> Responsible for preparing reports and maintaining records of program operations in a form suitable for inspection by regulatory agencies.</li> <li><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Liaise with Regulatory Agencies and Professional Societies:</span></strong> Participate in the work of professional societies and governmental agencies in standards setting, education and regulatory development related to Radiation Protection. Stay apprised of proposed and upcoming regulatory changes and their potential impact on fusion and the CFS License. Responsible for all radiological correspondence with state and federal agencies including.</li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Community Outreach:</strong></span> Support outreach efforts by representing CFS at various community and/or business meetings, committees, and task forces.</li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Formulate Direction and Strategy:</strong></span> Plan and implement short and long-term strategy and direction for the Radiation Protection Program consistent with overall EHSS mission and strategic goals.&nbsp;</li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Financial Budgeting and Control:</strong></span> Prepare and track budget and staffing levels for program operations.&nbsp;</li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Maintain Knowledge of the whole EHSS Program:</strong></span>&nbsp;Understand the structure and function of all areas of EHSS.
