We’re looking for a Director of Product to lead one of VRChat’s highest-priority consumer product areas. This is a senior individual contributor role for a product leader who can identify high-leverage opportunities, define clear strategy, and drive cross-functional execution that delivers measurable results. The exact scope of this role may flex based on the strengths of the person we hire and the company’s highest-priority needs. It may span areas such as growth, core user experience, discovery and personalization, trust & safety, social systems, or monetization. Regardless of scope, the mandate is the same: make VRChat more valuable to users, strengthen the health of the platform, and drive durable company growth. You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Community, Trust & Safety, Operations, Legal, and executive leadership. Success in this role requires strong consumer product judgment, a rigorous experimentation mindset, and a track record of shipping products that moved real user and business metrics. This role has significant executive visibility and regularly communicates progress, tradeoffs, and outcomes to leadership. \n Responsibilities<ul> <li> Define product strategy for a major consumer-facing area and translate it into a clear roadmap, priorities, and measurable outcomes. </li> <li> Own meaningful user and business metrics, using data to identify opportunities across acquisition, activation, retention, engagement, social health, monetization, and ecosystem growth. </li> <li> Lead product development end-to-end: problem framing, customer insight, requirements, prioritization, launch planning, experimentation, and post-launch iteration. </li> <li> Partner deeply with Engineering, Design, and Data to ship high-quality experiences across both traditional interfaces and immersive environments. </li> <li> Bring rigor to measurement and decision-making through strong metric design, funnel analysis, A/B testing, rollout plans, and ongoing optimization. </li> <li> Balance short-term impact with long-term user satisfaction, platform health, creator success, and company growth. </li> <li> Navigate complex tradeoffs and align cross-functional teams around clear priorities and decisions. </li> <li> Communicate strategy, progress, tradeoffs, and results clearly to executives and key stakeholders. </li> </ul> Experience, Skills & Qualifications<div> <ul> <li> 7+ years of product management experience building large-scale consumer products. </li> <li> A track record of owning meaningful product areas and shipping work that drove measurable impact on growth, retention, engagement, monetization, or ecosystem health. </li> <li> Strong background in experimentation and measurement, including A/B testing, funnel analysis, metric design, and data-informed decision-making. </li> <li> Experience partnering closely with engineering, design, and data teams on technically complex products. </li> <li> Strong consumer product instincts and sound judgment around user experience, business outcomes, and platform tradeoffs. </li> <li> Excellent communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills. </li> <li> Ability to operate with autonomy, urgency, and high standards in a fast-moving environment. </li> </ul> </div> Bonus Points<ul> <li> Growth, onboarding, activation, and retention </li> <li> Discovery, search, personalization, or recommendation systems </li> <li> Trust & safety or social product experiences </li> <li> Marketplaces, virtual economies, subscriptions, or monetization systems </li> <li> Gaming, creator platforms, or other highly engaged consumer products </li> <li> Driving impact at leading consumer technology or platform companies </li> </ul> Benefits<ul> <li>Work from anywhere!
