Established in 2018, Testa Center is a state-of-the-art 2,500 m² bioprocess pilot-scale innovation facility located in Uppsala. Designed to support Swedish and international industry, startups, and academia, the center offers a unique, real-world environment for testing and validating new technologies and tools for the production of biological products. We are currently seeking a motivated and service-oriented individual to join our team and contribute to the daily operations and continued development of Testa Center’s offerings. This is a highly customer-facing role involving hands-on support in project planning, coordination, and process development. A key aspect of the position is to actively promote Testa Center and engage with external stakeholders to attract new projects and collaborations. The successful candidate will also play an integral role in managing and participating in collaborative initiatives with academic institutions and governmental partners, including responsibility for specific activities and/or acting as project leader within consortia projects when needed. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Be part of the Testa Center team, contributing to a broad range of activities spanning hands-on operational work, activity planning, and the development of future strategies. Act as an upstream expert with a focus on small‑ to pilot‑scale cell cultivation techniques, working closely with clients in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Support Testa Center clients in project planning, training, troubleshooting, and execution. Testa Center specialists do not serve as direct project resources but act as support, coaches, and advisors to clients. Participating in project consortia together with external academic and non-academic partners and governmental bodies, contributing to project progress, follow-up, and reporting as needed. Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying gaps, appropriately escalating issues, and proposing solutions where possible. Maintain the center’s instrument park and ensure documentation of working routines and procedures. Represent Testa Center to a wide range of visitors—including students, researchers, companies, opinion leaders, and public and trade organizations—and participate in external conferences, networking events, and exhibitions as required. Support the coordination and preparation of the facility for wet lab exercises conducted by university organizations using Testa Center for higher education programs (MSc and/or PhD courses). The essential requirements for the role include: An MSc in biotechnology, bioprocess or biomedical engineering, or a related life sciences field. A PhD within protein production or a related field is regarded as a strong advantage. Solid experience from an industrial environment, with a clear customer focus and diligence in delivery, is strongly advantageous. Excellent oral communication skills, with the ability to confidently present complex technical concepts and tailor messaging to different audiences, such as industry stakeholders, academic partners, and potential collaborators. Demonstrated ability to define and communicate clear project objectives and priorities in dynamic or uncertain environments. Courage and professional judgment to advise clients proactively, even in situations involving uncertainty or potential risk. Analytical and solution-oriented mindset. High flexibility and the ability to switch efficiently between tasks. A self-driven, goal-oriented approach and a willingness to learn new things. English is the working language.
