Job Title: Assistant Vice President – Client Reporting Function: Investment Operations Sub Function: Investment Reporting Services Reports: Vice President - Institutional Reporting Services Location: Mumbai (Powai) Shift: UK hours Overall Job Purpose To lead the strategic evolution of the client reporting function by aligning reporting capabilities with global business objectives, regulatory change, and client expectations. This role drives transformation, builds future-state operating models, and ensures reporting is a source of insight, value, and competitive advantage. Accountabilities / Responsibilities: The Assistant Vice President – Client Reporting is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality, timely, and accurate client reports across portfolios. This role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction by overseeing reporting processes, driving automation and continuous improvement, and maintaining a strong control environment. Working along with the regional counterparts, acts as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and clients, the AVP plays a strategic role in enhancing reporting capabilities, fostering team development, and aligning reporting solutions with evolving business and regulatory needs. Leadership & Strategic Delivery Lead the end-to-end delivery of client reporting across institutional portfolios, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to SLAs and client-specific requirements. Oversee daily operations including report production, validation, and distribution, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and internal quality standards. Function as the senior escalation point for reporting issues, managing resolution and communication with internal stakeholders and clients. Align reporting strategy with global business objectives and regulatory developments. Lead or contribute to strategic global projects related to regulatory reporting changes, new product launches, and digital reporting transformation People Leadership & Talent Development Manage and mentor a team of People Managers, SMEs, and Analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, precision, and client focus. Drive career development, training plans, and succession planning to build a resilient and skilled reporting team. Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across reporting teams and adjacent functions.  Lead talent reviews, performance assessments, and take appropriate actions thereon Automation, Innovation & Continuous Improvement Drive automation initiatives to streamline report generation, reduce manual effort, and improve data consistency across reporting cycles. Implement continuous improvement programs focused on enhancing report quality, turnaround time, and operational resilience. Standardize reporting templates, processes, and controls to support scalability and reduce operational risk. MIS, Analytics & Client Insights Collaborate with MIS and Data teams to design reporting metrics and dashboards that provide visibility into volumes, SLA performance, and exception trends. Use data analytics to identify recurring issues, client behavior patterns, and opportunities for service enhancement. Support client and internal requests for customized reporting insights, ensuring responsiveness and analytical rigor. Risk Management & Control Governance Own the control framework across the reporting lifecycle, ensuring compliance with internal risk policies, audit standards, and regulatory requirements. Serve as the escalation point for unresolved data discrepancies, especially those with client impact or systemic risk. Lead cross-functional resolution efforts. Lead control testing, exception handling, and audit readiness across reporting processes. Drive remediation efforts for audit findings and ensure timely closure of control gaps. Maintain and periodically review Business Continuity Plans (BCP) for reporting functions. Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Alignment Partner with Client Services, Portfolio Management, Compliance, and Technology teams to ensure reporting solutions meet evolving client and regulatory needs. Represent the Client Reporting function in cross-functional forums, transformation initiatives, and client onboarding discussions. Translate client feedback into actionable improvements in reporting formats, delivery mechanisms, and service levels." Knowledge & Skills Investment Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of equities, fixed income, alternatives, and multi-asset strategies. Reporting Tools & Platforms: Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, macros), and familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView. Data Management Systems: Experience with platforms like Bloomberg, FactSet, SimCorp, Eagle, or similar financial data systems. Process Automation: Exposure to automation tools and scripting (e.g., VBA, Python, Alteryx) for streamlining reporting workflows. Project Management: Strong command of project planning, execution, and monitoring using tools like MS Project, JIRA, or Asana. Quality & Risk Controls: Knowledge of internal control frameworks, audit requirements, and regulatory compliance standards. Metrics & Dashboards: Ability to define, track, and analyse KPIs/KRIs; experience in building and interpreting performance dashboards. Leadership & People Development: Proven ability to lead diverse teams, mentor talent, and foster a culture of accountability and growth. Strategic Thinking: Ability to align operational goals with broader business objectives and drive long-term improvements. Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders across geographies and functions. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or related fields. Certifications like CFA, FRM, or IOC preferred.
