Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Lead Cost Estimator to lead major capital projects across the oil & gas, mining, and infrastructure sectors. The role will be based in Indonesia and deployed on long-term assignments (including a mining client) as well as other regional client engagements as required.The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, validating, and managing cost estimates across the full project lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with client and industry standards.Role and ResponsibilitiesPreparing the cost estimate plan (when required)Preparing the basis of estimate (BOE) documentPreparing the final estimate reportResponsible for coordinating the work of more junior cost estimating staff when requiredResponsible for collecting, cataloguing, and filing cost estimate data and informationResponsible for preparing and carrying out market pricing enquiriesResponsible for recommending cost estimating allowances based on project conditionsResponsible for developing location factors, norms, etc.Prepare and develop Class 2–4 cost estimates (AACE standards) for CAPEX projectsReview and validate Bills of Quantities (BoQ), drawings, and technical documentationDevelop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and cost breakdown structuresLead cost analysis, benchmarking, and data validation using internal and external databasesEnsure quality assurance and consistency of all estimating deliverablesProvide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators and team membersLead contractor cost assessmentsIdentify cost risks, contingencies, and value engineering opportunitiesLiaise with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure cost alignmentConsolidate estimate inputs and produce final project cost reportsPresent estimates and findings to clients and stakeholdersDevelop and maintain cost databases, productivity norms, and unit rate libraries
