Job DescriptionThe Business Controller is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and in-depth financial analysis for a portfolio of business units within the US Environment Business Line.This role partners closely with business leaders to enhance financial visibility, improve forecasting accuracy, strengthen cost control, evaluate capital investments, and ensure the integrity of month-end financial results, including appropriate accruals and accounting accuracy.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide business units with timely and accurate financial reports, KPIs, and performance metricsPartner with operational leaders to prepare budgets, forecasts, and mid-term financial plansReview and validate month-end preliminary P&Ls; collaborate with the National Service Center (NSC) to ensure necessary adjustments are completedPrepare, review, and validate key accruals to ensure accounting accuracyDeliver clear and insightful monthly financial commentaryFinancial Planning & AnalysisAnalyze financial performance and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability and cost controlPrepare and analyze annual budgets based on historical performance and future expectationsReview cost data and identify opportunities for operational efficiency and expense optimizationServe as a trusted financial advisor to business leaders, supporting decision-making with data-driven insightsCapital & Investment OversightReview capital expenditure (CapEx) requests and investment opportunities; assess financial metrics and return expectationsEnsure capital spending is effectively controlled and aligned with strategic objectivesPrepare and submit Spending & Contracting Authority (S&CA) deviation forms and related documentation, including financial forecastsOperational & Compliance SupportOversee annual inventory counts and fixed asset physical verifications for assigned business unitsSupport accounts receivable collections efforts to help achieve cash flow targetsAssist the NSC with cash funding requests to TreasuryDistribute and monitor the monthly Invoiced Not Received (INR) reportStrategic & M&A SupportPrepare financial projections for M&A activitiesSupport the financial integration of newly acquired businesses
