Job DescriptionWho will you be working with?Wabtec’s Digital Intelligence Signaling & Systems team is a recognized industry leader in the successful delivery of complex integrated system projects. These projects involve signaling, train control, communications, and back-office solutions with a strong focus on project execution, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction.How will you make a difference? As a Signal Engineer, you will be responsible for wayside/crossing designs and VLC/WIU programming. You will be working with customer specifications with railroad road standards and FRA regulations.What do we want to know about you? You must have:Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic, computer or mechanical engineering; or computer science. Equivalent work experience in the railroad signal industry is acceptable in lieu of educational requirementKnowledge of accepted railway industry quality standards, AREMA guidelines, FRA regulations, and customer specific requirements, preferred but not mandatory Must become familiar with individual customer’s standards as a part of the check process Proficient with MS Office suite (Excel, Office Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio and Word)Strong written and verbal communications skillsWhat will your typical day look like? Complete wayside/crossing designs as requiredComplete vital logic controller (VLC) programming as requiredComplete wayside interface unit (WIU) programming as requiredComplete scope reviews with manager and project leaderAttend project reviews with customers and project leadsWork within Microstation (CADD)Manage and organize files within a document control systemMaintain versioning controlReview deliverables for proper version and accuracy prior to deliveryProduce documentation as required by the DP/DLWI Quality System requirementsMonitor budget and timelinesAcquire a thorough understanding of RR standards and FRA regulationsMaintain knowledge of industry standards and guidelinesPerform other tasks as assigned by manager
