We are looking for an addition to our Product Development team to be responsible for the following areas: Compliance, Certification & Documentation (~40%) • Lead battery certification and compliance programs (UN38.3, UL1642, IEC 62133, BIS, and others), including coordination with external testing laboratories and certification bodies. • Own the creation, maintenance, and release of all customer-facing technical documentation for the cell product portfolio, including data sheets, product specifications, and safety documentation. • Maintain the electronic product catalog and product databases, ensuring all published specifications and documentation are current and aligned with certified configurations. • Track and manage certification timelines, test lab submissions, and regulatory requirements across the full cell portfolio to ensure uninterrupted product availability. Testing & Integration Engineering (~40%) • Support and guide cell-level testing activities, providing an integration perspective to ensure test plans, results, and data interpretation align with product requirements and customer application needs. • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Test Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to align product specifications with manufacturing capabilities and test results. • Evaluate cell performance data and translate findings into specification updates, integration guidance, and technical recommendations. • Participate in and present at regular project status reviews, providing updates on testing, integration activities, and NPI milestones. Customer, Supplier & Internal Communication (~20%) • Serve as a technical escalation point for Sales, Strategic Accounts, and Business Development teams, providing expert guidance on cell performance, specifications, and test data to external customers. • Act as a technical liaison with key external partners including testing labs, certification bodies, and contract manufacturers. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to internal teams on cell integration, specification standards, certification processes, and customer technical requirements. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. • 7+ years of experience in battery engineering, battery integration, or product engineering within the lithium-ion battery industry. • Strong knowledge of lithium-ion cell testing, characterization, and specification development. • Direct experience with battery certification standards (UN38.3, UL1642, IEC 62133). • Experience creating and managing technical documentation (TDS, product specifications, SDS) in a customer-deliverable context. • Proven ability to serve as a customer-facing technical resource, translating complex battery data into clear guidance for non-technical stakeholders. • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage 15+ simultaneous work streams across multiple tools and teams. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline. • Experience with silicon anode or other advanced lithium-ion battery chemistries. • Hands-on experience with battery pack integration or cell-to-pack assembly operations. • Experience leading or supervising small production or assembly teams in a manufacturing or lab environment. • Knowledge of international shipping regulations for lithium-ion cells (IATA DGR, 49 CFR).
