Position Summary The Buffet Runner is responsible for ensuring the seamless replenishment, presentation, and overall upkeep of the buffet service, working closely with the kitchen team. This role ensures food quality, temperature, and hygiene standards are maintained while supporting the kitchen in delivering an excellent guest experience. Responsibilities Ensure timely replenishment of buffet items as per kitchen instructions. Monitor food presentation and maintain high-quality visual standards. Coordinate with the kitchen for refilling dishes, replacing empty trays, and minimizing food waste. Maintain buffet area cleanliness and adhere to hygiene and safety regulations. Assist with setting up and dismantling the buffet station before and after service. Ensure correct labeling of dishes, including allergens and dietary information. Handle minor food preparation tasks under kitchen supervision if required. Follow HACCP and sanitation guidelines to ensure food safety. Communicate effectively with the kitchen regarding guest feedback or special requests. Assist in stock control and inventory management for buffet-related items. Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment preferred. Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. Good understanding of kitchen operations and buffet presentation. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent coordination and communication skills with the kitchen team. Proactive and efficient in ensuring uninterrupted buffet service. High level of hygiene awareness and adherence to food safety regulations. Ability to lift and transport food trays and other necessary items. Team player with a customer-focused mindset.
